Lasting Power of Attorney
We all realise the importance of making a Will and the disastrous implications of what can happen without one. Bereavement is hard enough without the added stress of additional paperwork and family feuds.
But when a non fatal illness or accident strikes, that is where Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPA's) are worth their weight in gold. We are not invincible, contrary to what we would like to think. Having appointed an attorney well in advance through an LPA, will alleviate extra stress at an already difficult time.
Why do I need it?
Lasting power of attorney certificates are essential when looking to protect your business or to continue to provide access to funds when you are incapacitated.
Custom Wills has fully trained Certificate Providers, making the whole process of making and registering a Lasting Power Of Attorney easier for you. We can prepare the paperwork and assess capacity to give authority to the power.
Isn't it expensive?
Our fees are only £420.00 for both parts of the Lasting Power of Attorney providing you with an LPA for both Health & Welfare and Financial Affairs. If appropriate you will need to pay court fees to the OPG (Office of the Public Guardian) which could be up to £164.00 for both sections.
If we are able to organise a reduction of the payment to the OPG we shall apply on your behalf and are able to advise you on the discount qualification criteria at the OPG.
